Meet our Hosts

Tony Morrison

Tony Morrison is the Media Specialist for the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Medicine. No, they’re not the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of the same same! Tony first moved to Pittsburgh over a decade ago to pursue microbiology, but decided a career in digital media would be more fulfilling (and a lot easier.) Tony’s background is mostly in photography, digital audio/visual production work, and graphic design. Tony joined the Division of Infectious Diseases at Pitt in 2022, and has been producing its digital media content since- including the Microbe Matters Podcast. Join Tony in the pursuit of understanding the unseen, interviewing esteemed faculty, researchers, clinicians, and staff along the way. Experts of any specialty or discipline are welcome to join in on the conversation. Not an ID professional? That’s okay, neither is Tony! Your stack of degrees doesn’t have to be *this high* to ride. All you need is an open mind and a curiosity for microbiology and public health.
